About

Carpetstory makes hand-knotted rugs in Jaipur and has done so since 2001. Each rug is knotted by hand from hand-spun New Zealand wool, often with mulberry silk, and spends six to ten months on the loom. We work to order: any size up to 16 feet wide, any colourway, matched to a sample or a Pantone reference. Our seven collections draw on India: traditional designs, Rajput palace ornament, Bombay Art Deco, ancient geometry, Rajasthan seen from the air, the Jantar Mantar and plain hand-dyed wool. We supply interior designers, architects, hotels and private clients in India and abroad, with samples and a trade programme for studios.
