This Privacy Policy explains how RugIndustry.com ("RugIndustry," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website, subscribe to our newsletter, submit or claim a directory listing, purchase advertising or listing services, or otherwise interact with us. RugIndustry is a business-to-business trade publication and directory for the U.S. rug industry. By using our website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide to us

  • Directory and business information: business name, address, phone number, website, hours, category, description, logo, photos, and similar details you submit when you list or claim a business.
  • Account information: your name, email address, and password if you create an account.
  • Newsletter and forms: your email address when you subscribe to Rug Industry Weekly, and any details you include in contact, media-kit, or inquiry forms.
  • Text-message opt-in: your mobile number and consent if you sign up for text updates.
  • Purchases: when you buy a listing or advertising, our payment processor collects your billing and payment-card details. We do not see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data: pages viewed, referring pages, browser and device type, approximate location derived from IP address, and dates and times of access.
  • Cookies and analytics: we use essential cookies needed to run the site (for example, to keep you signed in) and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site: Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymized session activity such as heatmaps, clicks, and scrolling to help us improve the site. These tools set cookies and process usage data, including a truncated or full IP address, on our behalf. Text you type into forms is masked in Clarity's recordings.

Email and text communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. If you have opted in to text messages, you can cancel at any time by replying STOP; message and data rates may apply. We may still send you transactional messages related to your account, listings, or purchases.

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain your listings or account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
