Why founding rates exist
You're taking a chance on a new publication. We don't forget that.
RugIndustry is the modern trade publication for the U.S. rug industry. We're new, and that means today's rates are dramatically below where they'll land once our audience matures.
Founding advertisers get the launch rate locked in for 12 months. That means when standard rates land at 2× to 4× the founding price, your renewal stays at the founding rate you signed up at.
After your first 12-month term, you renew at the then-current standard rate.

FAQ
How long until my ad is live?
Banner ads activate within 24 hours of receiving your banner image (at the spec listed on each placement) and target URL. Premium and Featured Listings go live within 24 hours of approval. Sponsored Articles publish within 7 days of receiving your article and assets (we review and confirm within 48 hours). Newsletter Sponsorships are scheduled for the next available send date and confirmed with you 48 hours before send.
Can I see analytics on my placement?
Yes. Banner ads include click-through reporting at the end of each 30-day flight. Sponsored Articles include pageview, time-on-page, and outbound click data. Newsletter sponsorships include send count, open rate, and sponsor link click count. We send a one-page report at the end of each campaign.
How do you handle creative review?
We review banner creative for technical specs (dimensions, file size, format) and clarity of the "Advertisement" label requirement. For Sponsored Articles, you provide the copy and we review it against our quality and editorial standards before publishing. We don't rewrite your message or edit factual claims about your products, but we may request changes (or decline) if something risks misleading our readers.
Is sponsored content labeled as sponsored?
Always. Sponsored Articles carry a "Sponsored" badge in the headline, "In partnership with [your brand]" in the byline, and an "About the Sponsor" card at the article footer. Banner ads carry an "Advertisement" label. Newsletter sponsorships are introduced with "Presented by [your brand]." We do not sell editorial coverage.
Can I pay by invoice instead of card?
Yes, for placements over $500. Email hello@rugindustry.com with your billing details and we'll send a Stripe invoice you can pay via ACH or wire. For placements under $500, card is the fastest path, Stripe checkout handles it directly via the buttons above.
What does "Founding rate locked for 12 months" actually mean?
The price you sign up at today is the price you renew at next year, even if our standard rates have moved up 2× or 3× by then. After your second 12-month term ends, you move to the then-current standard rate. You're effectively locking in the floor for 24 months.
How does the Custom Digital Magazine work?
You pay $2,000 setup + $25/month hosting. After kickoff, our editorial team reaches out within 48 hours to scope your 12-page magazine, what to cover, who to interview, what photos to use. We write and design everything, you review and approve the proof. First proof typically lands within 14 days. Once published, your magazine lives at a branded URL as a mobile-friendly flipbook readers can flip through and share. Hosting is required to keep it live, cancel hosting and the magazine goes offline.
Can I cancel the magazine hosting later?
Yes, anytime, but your magazine goes offline when hosting ends. The $2,000 setup fee is one-time and non-refundable once production starts. The $25/month hosting is what keeps the flipbook live, embeddable, and accessible at your branded URL. If you cancel, we'll send you the final PDF files so you have your own copy of the magazine.
Can I cancel or pause a placement?
Banner Ads and Newsletter Sponsorships are paid per flight, so there's no recurring commitment to cancel, you simply don't renew. Directory listings are paid annually; you can cancel for the next renewal cycle at any time, no questions. Sponsored Articles are one-time placements and remain live on the site indefinitely.
