Trade shows are where the rug year actually gets decided. Colors, price points, new collections and supplier relationships all get set at market and show up on showroom floors months later. The problem is that no single show serves everyone. A specialty dealer sourcing hand-knotted goods and a flooring retailer buying broadloom have almost nothing to gain from the same event. Attending the wrong one costs a week and several thousand dollars. This calendar covers every major U.S. show relevant to the rug trade in 2027, with confirmed dates where organizers have published them, and honest TBA markings where they have not. Each entry includes who the show is actually for and what it is worth attending for.

If you're searching for a trusted local rug store, our retailer directory lists shops across the U.S. organized by state and specialty.

High Point Market The largest home furnishings trade show in the world, and the single most important U.S. event for most rug retailers.

DatesSpring: April 10-14, 2027 · Fall: October 23-27, 2027
LocationHigh Point, North Carolina
AudienceRetailers, interior designers, architects, buyers. Trade only
Rug focusHigh. Major manufacturer showrooms plus dedicated rug resources
Best forFull-line retailers, designers, anyone buying across categories
RegistrationFree for qualified trade at highpointmarket.org

High Point draws more than 75,000 attendees across roughly 12 million square feet of showroom space. Nearly every significant U.S. rug manufacturer maintains a presence, which makes it the most efficient single event for seeing broad assortment. Its scale is also its drawback. First-timers routinely underestimate how physically demanding it is, and a poorly planned week produces less than a well-planned two days. Our guide on attending High Point as a first-time rug buyer covers how to structure the visit, and our Spring 2026 recap gives a sense of what the rug side of the market actually looks like. The Fall edition matters more for rug buyers than Spring, because it sets holiday and early-year inventory. Our High Point Fall 2026 listing covers the immediate prior edition. Worth knowing: Temporary exhibitor halls typically open a day before permanent showrooms. If you are sourcing from smaller or newer suppliers, that extra day is where you find them. Atlanta Market A gift, home décor and furnishings market at AmericasMart, with a broader product mix than High Point and a stronger accessories orientation.

DatesWinter: January 12-17, 2027 · Summer: TBA
LocationAmericasMart, Atlanta, Georgia
AudienceRetailers, designers, gift and home buyers. Trade only
Rug focusMedium. Rugs sit within a wider home category
Best forRetailers buying across home categories, not rug-only specialists
RegistrationFree for qualified trade through ANDMORE

Atlanta suits a retailer who sells more than rugs. If your floor includes accessories, lighting and décor, one Atlanta trip covers ground that would otherwise take several. If you are a dedicated rug specialist, the rug-specific density is lower than High Point or a rug-only show. Note that the summer edition moved earlier in 2026, landing in June rather than its traditional July slot, so do not assume the historical pattern holds. Our Atlanta Market Summer 2026 coverage examines what rug retailers found there, and the Winter 2027 listing has current details. Two adjacent Atlanta events worth noting: Formal Markets runs April 12-14, 2027, and Casual Market Atlanta, focused on outdoor and casual furnishings including outdoor rugs, runs July 13-15, 2027. Las Vegas Market The premier West Coast sourcing destination, and the most convenient major market for Western and Mountain region retailers.

DatesWinter: January 24-28, 2027 · Summer: TBA
LocationWorld Market Center, Las Vegas, Nevada
AudienceRetailers, designers, hospitality buyers. Trade only
Rug focusMedium-high. Strong permanent rug showroom presence
Best forWest Coast retailers, hospitality and contract buyers
RegistrationFree for qualified trade through ANDMORE

Las Vegas runs a four-building campus combining permanent showrooms with temporary exhibitors. Its rug presence is solid without matching High Point's depth, but for a retailer west of the Rockies the travel savings often make it the more sensible primary market. The hospitality and contract crossover is stronger here than at other general markets, which matters if any part of your business serves commercial projects. Our Las Vegas Market Summer 2026 and Winter 2027 listings carry current details. Timing note: Winter Las Vegas falls just days before TISE, also in Las Vegas. Buyers who plan carefully can cover both in a single trip, which is one of the better efficiency opportunities on the 2027 calendar. TISE, The International Surface Event The largest North American floor covering, stone and tile event, and the most important show for anyone whose business includes hard surface or broadloom alongside rugs.

DatesExhibit hall: February 2-4, 2027 · Education: February 1-4, 2027
LocationMandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada
AudienceFlooring retailers, contractors, distributors, designers, specifiers
Rug focusHigh for floor covering broadly, plus a dedicated handmade rug pavilion
Best forFlooring retailers, dealers carrying both broadloom and rugs
RegistrationPaid, with early rates at intlsurfaceevent.com

TISE draws roughly 19,000 industry professionals from more than 55 countries. Its education program is genuinely substantial, running more than 80 sessions across installation technique, business development and market trends, which is unusual depth for a U.S. floor covering event. For rug specialists specifically, the reason to attend is the pavilion described next. COVER Connect Las Vegas A curated handmade rug pavilion inside TISE, and one of the highest-value stops on the calendar for anyone sourcing genuine hand-knotted goods.

DatesFebruary 2-4, 2027
LocationMandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas (within TISE)
AudienceRug buyers, designers, specifiers
Rug focusVery high. Handmade rugs exclusively
Best forSpecialty rug retailers, designers sourcing traditional and contemporary handmade
RegistrationThrough TISE registration

Curated by COVER magazine, this pavilion brings a selected group of high-end brands showing traditional, transitional and contemporary handmade rugs. The 2027 edition will be its fifth. The strategic logic is worth understanding. TISE attracts flooring buyers who are already sourcing broadloom, and a meaningful share of those buyers also purchase handmade rugs. The pavilion puts curated handmade product in front of an audience that would not otherwise attend a rug-only show. For a specialty dealer, the combination of TISE plus COVER Connect in one trip is arguably the most efficient sourcing opportunity in the first quarter. The Rug Show The most rug-focused event on the U.S. calendar, run by rug dealers for rug dealers.

DatesTBA for 2027. Historically held in September
LocationMeadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, New Jersey
AudienceRug retailers, dealers, designers
Rug focusVery high. Rugs exclusively
Best forSpecialty rug dealers sourcing handmade and decorative goods

The Rug Show traces back to the Los Angeles International Rug Show in 2009 and adopted its current name in 2012. It is organized cooperatively by rug dealers rather than by a large market operator, which shows in the atmosphere. It is smaller, more focused and considerably less exhausting than a general furnishings market. For a dedicated rug specialist, the signal-to-noise ratio here is the best on the calendar. You are not walking past lighting and outdoor furniture to reach the rugs. Its Secaucus location, just outside New York City, has historically been scheduled close to COVER Connect New York, allowing East Coast buyers to combine both into one trip. Check dates directly with the organizer, since 2027 dates were not published at the time of writing. COVER Connect New York The East Coast counterpart to COVER Connect Las Vegas, focused on high-end handmade rugs.

This event skews more toward the design trade than the dealer trade, which makes it particularly relevant if you sell to interior designers or specify for residential projects. Our COVER Connect New York 2026 listing covers the prior edition. NeoCon The largest commercial interiors show in North America, held at theMART in Chicago.

DatesJune 13-16, 2027 (expected, confirm with organizer)

For more on this topic, see our article: Carpet and Rug Retail Trends for Fall 2026.

NeoCon is a contract show, not a residential one. If your business is purely residential retail, it is probably not the right use of a week. If any meaningful share of your revenue comes from commercial specification, it is where those relationships get built. More than 700 exhibitors show across workplace, healthcare, hospitality, retail, education and public space categories. Our NeoCon 2026 coverage looks at what the show offered rug retailers specifically. Verify these dates. The June 13-16 window comes from event aggregators rather than theMART directly. HD Expo, Hospitality Design Exposition The main event for hospitality interiors, relevant to any dealer serving hotel, restaurant or resort projects.

DatesTBA for 2027
LocationLas Vegas, Nevada
AudienceHospitality designers, purchasing agents, hotel operators
Rug focusMedium. Custom and contract rug capability
Best forDealers with hospitality or contract business

Hospitality is a distinct sales channel with its own requirements around durability, fire rating, custom sizing and volume. If you are pursuing that business, this is where the specifiers are. Our HD Expo 2026 listing covers the prior edition. International Shows Worth the Trip Two European events matter enough to U.S. rug buyers to include here.

Heimtextil

DatesJanuary 12-15, 2027
LocationMesse Frankfurt, Germany
AudienceRetailers, wholesalers, designers, textile buyers
Rug focusHigh. Dedicated carpets and rugs segment
Best forImporters and larger retailers sourcing internationally

The world's leading home textiles fair, drawing roughly 50,000 buyers from around 142 countries. Its carpets and rugs segment has expanded meaningfully in recent editions. Our Heimtextil 2027 listing has details. Note the scheduling conflict: Heimtextil overlaps almost exactly with Atlanta Market Winter. You will be choosing between them.

Domotex Hannover

DatesTBA for 2027, confirm with organizer
LocationHannover, Germany
AudienceFlooring and rug trade, international
Rug focusVery high, particularly handmade and international sourcing
Best forImporters sourcing directly from producing countries

Domotex has historically been the most important international event for handmade rug sourcing, with strong representation from Indian, Turkish, Pakistani and Nepalese producers. For an importer building direct supplier relationships, it offers access that no U.S. show matches. Our Domotex 2027 listing carries current information.

Which Show Is Right for You?

Attending everything is neither possible nor useful. Match the show to the business.

If you are a specialty rug retailer: The Rug Show and COVER Connect are your highest-value stops, with High Point Fall for breadth. TISE plus COVER Connect Las Vegas is an efficient February combination.

If you sell rugs alongside other home categories: High Point or Atlanta, depending on whether your mix leans furniture or accessories. One major market plus one rug-specific show is a sensible year.

If you are a flooring dealer carrying both broadloom and rugs: TISE is the priority, with COVER Connect Las Vegas inside it.

If you serve commercial or hospitality clients: NeoCon and HD Expo, which are different audiences from residential markets entirely.

If you are an importer sourcing directly: Domotex and Heimtextil offer producer access that U.S. shows do not. The considerations driving those decisions are covered in our reporting on what importers are watching.

If you are West Coast based: Las Vegas Market plus TISE covers most of what you need without cross-country travel.

Planning Notes for 2027

January is congested. Atlanta Market, Heimtextil and Las Vegas Market all fall within roughly two weeks, with TISE immediately after. Decide early, because January cannot accommodate all of them.

Pair Las Vegas Market with TISE. Winter Las Vegas Market runs January 24-28 and TISE opens February 2, both in Las Vegas. With a few days between them, a single extended trip covers two significant events.

Fall market matters more than Spring for rug buyers. October High Point sets holiday and early-year inventory, which is when most rug retail volume actually happens.

Register early. Most trade shows are free for qualified trade but require advance credentialing, and on-site registration wastes selling time.

Book housing before dates are announced where possible. High Point in particular has constrained lodging, and prices rise sharply as market approaches.

Go with a list. The most common mistake at a large market is wandering. Know which showrooms you need, what gaps your floor has, and what your open-to-buy actually is before you arrive.

Key Takeaways

The 2027 calendar has a clear shape. January and February are dense with sourcing opportunity, particularly the Las Vegas cluster where Market and TISE nearly overlap. April brings Spring High Point. Fall is dominated by The Rug Show in September and High Point in late October, which together set holiday inventory.

For most rug retailers, two to three shows a year is the right number: one major market for breadth, one rug-specific show for depth, and one specialty event if you serve a distinct channel like hospitality or design trade.

Dates for several events had not been published at the time of writing. Confirm directly with organizers before booking travel, and check this page for updates as announcements land.
